End Of The World

My father always beleived he would never live past 35. I never thought I would live past 25. We both were wrong. Once I reached 26, the pessimest in me picked June 6, 2006 (6-6-6) as the day the world would end. But I might have been wrong again by almost 9 months.

Tonight the Chicago White Sox made it to the World Series, and sometime this week, I feel the hated Cardinals will join them. Being a lifelong Cub fan, I'm stuck between a Rock Raines & a Big Hurt. I have Family switching alegences to the point I had to write this E-Mail to my cousin:

Blasphemer...How dare you take the side of the hated Pale Hoes. Do you not remember 2 years ago, when the Cubs were one win away from the World Series. Do you not remember what City sold the Most Florida Marlins Caps in the whole U.S. of A.? It's payback time. It's time to wear your Angel hat with pride. It's time to say Josh Paul caught that F'n Ball the same way Sox fans were mocking us when Bartman grabbed at that ball from the stands. Don't do it Davey, Don't Jump on that bandwagon. Because on that bandwagon are two Mullet Headed Hicks ready to jump you and beat you up just because they think your faded Cubs hat is Royal Blue. Just keep beleiving that if the Sox do good, it will force the Cubs to pull their heads out of their asses (watch out for the toothpick Dusty, this could hurt), and put not just a "competitive" team on the field, but a WINNING team on the field. To semi quote a fans of the south siders "Say it ain't so Davey, Say it ain't so."
13 years ago, I made a promise to my mother that I would never try to kill myself again ( A promise I intend to keep), but if there is anything that would make think about it would be a SOX-CARDS Series. All I can hope for now is that the Astro's make it instead of the Cards. I know the Stro's are division rivals too, but if I had to pick two non-Cubs I'd like to see win a WS, It would be Bagwell & Biggio.

Being a Die Hard baseball fan, I can't beleive I'm about to say this, but I'll probably not watch the WS. Thank God I have the Paul McCartney Concert Tuesday night to help me forget about this pain.

How to define the end of the world:

1. Bears are the tops of their division

2. Flooding, fire, tsunamis take over the world

3. And Keith RIchards outlives us all

We ain't there yet, Vinnie!
